Lego My Style: Preschool is an edutainment video game released for PC and Mac in 2000, with a PlayStation version in 2001, exclusively in Japan. Unlike earlier Lego titles, the game is aimed at a much younger audience, mainly preschool-aged children aged two to four, and is intended to teach them about basic shapes, colors, and early learning skills. The game is the first entry in the Lego My Style subseries and serves as a companion to Lego My Style: Kindergarten.
Development[edit | edit source]
Around 1998, when The Lego Group began expanding into the gaming market, the company started exploring ideas for games aimed at a younger audience than their other titles. This led to the creation of the Lego My Style subseries, with separate preschool and kindergarten games entering development in 1999.[1]
Notes[edit | edit source]
- Lego My Style: Preschool Lego and My Style: Kindergarten were the first Lego games available for Mac.
- An early ad for Lego Island suggests that a Mac version was planned but it was never released.[2]
- Both Lego My Style games are also known as Lego My World in some regions.
- The PlayStation version was released in Japan as Kids Station: Lego no Sekai.
- A third game in the Lego My Style subseries, titled Lego My Style: Parade, had started development by Brainchild Studio but was never released.
