A Red and Black Team Player is a minifigure from the Soccer/Football theme. A total of ten minifigures are on this team, but each of these players has two variants, making a total of twenty minifigures.

Players[edit | edit source]
All of the players on this team have two variants. The difference between the variants for each player is the legs- in some sets, the players came with plain white legs, while in others, they had plain blue ones. Each variant however had a red torso piece with yellow hands. The torso piece has printing on both sides. On the front, a yellow neck area is present, with a black v-shaped neckline for the jersey. On the left-hand side of the chest is the player's number in black and outlined in white. The shirt designs also have six black vertical stripes, which start off dark at the bottom of the piece, but fade off on the way up. The back of this piece features the same stripe pattern at the bottom, and also has the player's number again in black and outlined in white, but is much larger than it is on the front and positioned in the centre. All players have yellow heads with standard male hairpieces, but with differing hair colour and printing patterns.
- Number 2
This player has two black oval-shaped eyes, black eyebrows and black printed hair at the top, and has a smiling expression. He also has a brown freckles situated between his eyes and mouth. He comes with a black hairpiece.
- Number 4
This player has brown hair, and black printing on his face for dot eyes, a smile and eyebrows. He also has brown printing for sideburns and stubble.
- Number 5
This blonde-haired minifigure has black eyes with a lopsided black smile, along with a white goatee and white eyebrows all outlined in black.
- Number 7
Number 7 has black hair with two black dot eyes and a smile.
- Number 8
Number 8 also has black hair, with black printing for eyebrows, dot eyes and a smile.
- Number 9
Featuring a black hairpiece, this player has black printing for a smile, curly moustache, two eyes with eyebrows, sideburns, and printed hair at the top. The headpiece was most commonly used for the early variants of Johnny Thunder.
- Number 10
The second member of the team to have a blonde hairpiece, this player has black printing on his face for dot eyes, eyebrows and a smile.
- Number 11
One of three members of the team to have brown hair, this player has two black dot eyes and a smile, as well as a black moustache.
- Number 14
Like both versions of Number 10 and Number 7, this minifigure has a headpiece featuring black printing for eyes, eyebrows and smile. He comes with a brown hairpiece.
- Number 18
Number 18 has black hair, and features black printing for eyes, a smile, and strands of hair to either side of the face.
Background[edit | edit source]
The Red and Black team were a team seen regularly practicing their skills using a range of equipment. They also commonly faced off against members of the Blue and White team. Although they commonly wore white pants, when playing against national teams such as France and the United States, the team wore blue pants instead. The team commonly had the Grey Goalkeeper playing for their side, although this goalie was also seen playing against them when the team played against France, and they instead hired the Red Goalkeeper who commonly played for the Blue and White team.
