Darth Revan is a Star Wars themed minifigure released in 2014.
Description[edit | edit source]
The Darth Revan minifigure features black legs with printing on both the legs and the leg joint in dark red and dark grey, depicting a belt and his robes, most notably areas of dark red on the inside of each leg and the centre join for the centre section of his robes. Revan's torso is dark red, with black arms and dark red hands. The front features dark grey and black printing to continue the robe's design, including folds, the top areas of the belt, and printed clasps at the top for the cape. The head piece is dark grey, with dark red and black printing on the front to depict the mask that Revan famously wore at various points in his life. Darth Revan comes with three accessories- a black hood and cape, and a red-bladed lightsaber.
Background[edit | edit source]
The Jedi Knight who became known as Revan led a war against Mandalorian forces for the Republic, against the wishes of the Jedi Council. After defeating the head of the Mandalorians in single combat, Revan learned that the Mandalorians had been manipulated by a Sith into starting the war against the Republic. Revan and his Jedi captain who served him during the war, Malak, followed the trail of evidence before finding the immortal Sith Emperor on the Sith world of Dromund Kaas. Instead of attacking the Jedi, the Emperor dominated their minds, annointed his new servants as Darth Revan and Darth Malak, and sent them on a mission to find an ancient weapon known as the Star Forge. However, by the time they found the Star Forge, Revan and Malak managed to free themselves of the Emperor's hold, but their minds were still twisted by the dark side. Revan and Malak declared themselves the leaders of a new Sith Empire, with Revan as the master and Malak as his apprentice. The Sith decided to use the Star Forge for their own purposes and declared war on the Republic. During the war, Revan was betrayed by Malak, who was jealous of Revan being the ruler of the Empire, and fired on Revan's ship. However, his life was saved by a team of Jedi who had infiltrated Revan's ship, which was led by Bastila Shan. In a coma after Malak's attack, the Jedi brought Revan before the Jedi Council, who proceeded to wipe his mind and retrain him as a Jedi.
Revan then went on to serve the Jedi Order and the Republic for a number of years, before his memories of the hidden Sith Empire returned. Revan returned to Dromund Kaas in an attempt to kill the Emperor, but failed and was placed in a coma for centuries while the Emperor tortured Revan's mind, attempting to learn about the Republic. Revan was eventually freed by Republic forces, and he dedicated much of the rest of his life to killing the Emperor. Although he was ultimately unsuccessful, he became one with the Force, being at peace that he had done enough and it was time for others to carry on with his fight.
