Documentation for previous Stories template[edit source]
Template:Story is the most important template for any story page. It is to be placed at the top of every single content page on the wiki. It describes the status and information for each page, and it changes its content depending on what is filled into the strings.
Theme[edit source]
This tag is required for new stories (stories using Info/dev). It currently doesn't show for existing stories, but this will change in the future. This tag can have anything in it, as it is the theme of the story, such as 'LEGO Universe', 'Ninjago' or 'Castle'. If your story is based on a custom, use 'Custom Based' as your theme and use {{BasedOnCustom|NameOfCustomArticleOnBrickimediaCustoms}}
underneath your info template.
Class[edit source]
What goes in this box defines which category will be applied to the page. Type 1
if it is a story, type 2
if it is an adventure. See the Community Portal for further help. The Class tag is required.
Status[edit source]
The value of this tag defines the status of a story or adventure. There are four possible values: incomplete, complete, pending, and abandoned. If the story/adventure is incomplete, type 1
. If the story or adventure is completely finished, type 2
. If the story or adventure is "pending", meaning is not yet been started, but is being planned (or exists elsewhere and hasn't been copied here yet), type 3
. If the story has been abandoned (see for rules), type 4
. The Status tag is required.
Author Tags[edit source]
This group of tags defines the displayed author(s) of the story or adventure. If Author doesn't have a value, then anything entered into subsequent author strings (Author 2 and Author 3) will not be displayed. A category for each author will be added to the page upon publish. The second and third author tags are only to be filled out if those authors collaborated with writing the story. Editors do not qualify.
Author[edit source]
This tag is to be filled with the name of the author of the story or adventure. It can be the author's former in-game name, Wikia name, or other LEGO-community name they are commonly known by. The name used must be the same across all of the author's stories. The Author tag is required.
Author 2[edit source]
Same as Author, except for a collaborating author. Again, editors do not qualify. The Author 2 tag is not required.
Author 3[edit source]
Same as Author 2.
Original Author[edit source]
The Original Author tag defines the name of the author who started the story before its abandonment. This is only to be filled after the story has been adopted from the Abandoned Stories Archive. In all other cases, it is to remain blank.
Original Source Link[edit source]
This tag is to be filled with the full URL (including http://
) of the story's original source, if it was not originally written on the wiki. If left blank, the template will automatically read that the story is original to the wiki.
Author's Notes[edit source]
If the author has or authors have any notes about the story/adventure, they are to be placed in this box. The notes must be related to the story and be clean and fit for all audiences. The Author's Notes tag is not required.
Image[edit source]
If you want your story to be represented by an image in the "Read more" section at the bottom of every page, specify a filename here. The file must be uploaded (via Special:Upload), have a length of 200px, and a height of 100px. To include the image, simply type the filename, like Image.ext. For example, if you upload an image that complies with the provided specifications, and this file was uploaded as "Myimage.jpg", type in the box Myimage.jpg
. No File: prefix or set of double-braces is needed.
