The Tall Tale of Monkey Wretch (also known as The Tall Tale of Monkey Wrench and The Tall Tale of Monk) is the third short centering on the origins of the crew of Misfortune's Keep.

Plot[edit | edit source]

There was once a pirate mechanic who was incredibly skilled and fast, who lived on an island building and repairing sailing vessels. One day, a curious monkey sought to emulate him, much to his annoyance, and the pair were then approached by Nadakhan. Thrilled by the prospect of three wishes, the mechanic wished to be the fastest mechanic ever, to be as effective as though his tools were part of him, and for the bothersome monkey to disappear. Nadakhan granted his wishes by turning him into Monkey Wretch, a mechanical monkey who soon set to work building a ship for his new master.
