User blog:Nexus/Daredevil Volume 1 Issue 1 - Opening Night
I've been looking for this guy for weeks, never showed up to court. Nothing but petty crime. But that's all he's been caught for, I've heard what he's done... And I can't allow myself to say what he did but he will see judgement. Tonight, he won't escape the iron grip of justice. His foot steps ring like church bells in my ears as his steps are a haze along with a foul stench from his mouth exhaling. Drunk, obviously. Better take him now. I start to run but my footfalls make no noise. I smell something, his stench. But something else in front of me. Brick... I leap up as high as I can as my hand grabs a bar and I swing on it following the stench. The pipe I swing on creaks and the man turns around, his heart beat spikes as he pulls out a gun.
Man: "WHA-HOSE THERE!?"
I continue walking towards him remaining silent. I hear his finger tapping the safety and the other pulling the trigger, I dodge to the left as the bullet goes off in the other direction. Got to move faster this time. I grab the gun and spin across the man tossing the gun away and kicking him in the stomach as I then flip back onto the pole on the brick wall.
Matt Murdock: "So, you don't know who I am... What I am..."
The man turns around as he back up to the wall, I creep down behind him. He's nearly a foot away from me as I say;
Matt Murdock: "Or where I am!"
I kick his back as he screams and falls to the ground.
Man: "WHY DID HE SEND YOU!?"
I stop my fist from making contact to his face as I ask;
Matt Murdock: "Who sent me?"
The man's heart beat continues to grow as he realizes his mistake. I reach for the collars of his coat.
Matt Murdock: "Who are you running from!?"
The man's heart beat slows as I drop him. He's out cold. This was a slight bump in the plan, but who other than me is after him? I pick myself back up as I grab his wallet. I open it and file through looking for an ID... I pull off my glove and feel for a name. The card is smooth, I file through more as I find and indented card... R, I, G, O, L, E, T, T, O. But, Rigoletto is dead. Why does he have Rigoletto's card? I feel around more as I make out a credit card company too. Interesting. I snap the card in half and toss the wallet down as I look for a fire escape. Drawn in by all different smells I locate a familiar one, the fire escape is always down. I leap up and grab it as I climb up and disappear into the night.
Not too perfect for a first issue but I got to set things up! And you people who watch Daredevil on Netflix... You may get the hints where this is going. You're assumptions may be right. Maybe not.
