21008 Burj Khalifa is an Architecture set released in June 2011.

Description[edit]

The set contains a total of 208 pieces. The Burj Khalifa model is 28 standard LEGO bricks high and has a 12x12 width at base of the model. The base of the model is mainly made of black brick plates, one of them printed with which says "Burj Khalifa" on it. Above it, it has flat stone grey base plates representing the floor of the tower model. The tower itself is in a "Y-like" shape and is mostly made up of part 3062 in light stone grey. At the top it has Part:3957 (an antenna piece) representing the top tip of the tower.

Background[edit]

The Burj Khalifa was designed by American Architect, Adrian D. Smith. Construction began in 2004 and the building was officially opened in 2010. It was originally known as the "Burj Dubai", but the name was changed quite recently to the Burj Khalifa. The building is over 800m, being even taller then some other monumental buildings such as the Empire State Building and the Willis Tower.
