Brickipedia News:LEGO Ideas first 2015 review results

The results of the first LEGO Ideas 2015 review have been posted. The were a total of 14 sets in this review, but the LEGO Ideas team found a way to narrow it down and choose the best projects to produce. The next LEGO Ideas set will be...

... nothing.

For the first time in LEGO Ideas history, all of the projects included in the review have been rejected. However, the F7A Hornet is still being considered, so there is still hope. You can read more about this on the official LEGO Ideas blog.

Most exciting announcement ever (if you haven't already, don't watch the video. It literally says nothing that isn't already in the text [except for the word "Tyranosaurius"]). Honestly, the only one I could see happening in that period was Small Yellow, I'm kinda shocked it didn't pass.

Can't see any of the ones in the next period passing either, except maybe the Physics one if the set was on a smaller scale to the proposal, and possibly the Adventure Time one if they get/want the license.

Smal yellow probably didn't pass because it has bricks spilling out, I don't think kids would understand that

Understand what? Or is there some artsy explanation for it that I don't know/care about? I just thought it was meant to look cool :D

It's a piece of art; it's open for interpretation. Kids should be able to interpret a sculpture pretty simply, or at least come up with their own interpretation. In fact, Nathan Sawaya displays his work for children (and adults too) to see. As a LEGO Certified Professional, that's part of the goal of the program: to inspire and amaze builders, young and old, through the use of LEGO in artistic and other displayable forms.

I meant in building instructions :P

Even if it was released, it could only be used as a display piece (a rather annoying one at that as you would have to move the spilling out bricks). I don't think they've released a set that isn't for play
