SCANDAL! Well, not much of one, but still. To add suspense to your minds, I shall start this with boring news, then go to the set news and end on the scandal. Of course, this assumes that you can't just skip to the big "SCANDAL" section. But shush.

  • Durham Cathedral News - 80 bricks for 80th birthday means 80 new bricks for cathedral Northern Echo
  • Theft news - a toy shop in the Czech Republic is where we find our latest mass LEGO thief, who stole minifigures to order. Metro
  • Teaser I - this teaser on Youtube is so successful at teasing that it doesn't show or hint that its the exo-suit. But it is.
  • Teaser II - this teaser is better than the last in that it mentions the set name and a release date. Consider me thoroughly intrigued.
  • Magazine news - Remember the Chima magazine? There is now a Friends one - perfect for all you girls reading this, or parents, or Berrybrick. Brickfanatics
  • New Month, New Deals - You can find that here.
  • DVDs still sell - The LEGO Movie still sold a lot of copies last week. Not as many as 301 sold though. Variety

SCANDAL! SCANDAL! SCANDAL!

Greenpeace are here to tell us about the evils of Shell, who are busy killing the world, while we just sit here and get free toys with Shell stickers. To protest that took a picture of some minifigures in front of Saint Paul's, and stuck a banner on the Angel of the North at LEGOLAND. LEGO responded saying they didn't want to get involved basically, and Greenpeace responded with more of the same and an FAQ. Don't worry though, Greenpeace don't want you to boycott LEGO or anything like that, just to email them about cutting ties with Shell. Do you think LEGO should stop its partnership with Shell? or is Greenpeace just looking for an easy target? Or maybe you don't care. Comment below.

I must say, LEGO's response was pretty good, it did a great job of making Greenpeace even worse attacking them in the first place :)

And they're right, if Greenpeace want to attack Shell for whatever they've done, that's fair enough. But attack them directly. Going after distant partners who aren't doing anything against the environment themselves is just low, especially in the amateurish way they went about doing it.

Oh, and I can't even be bothered looking at the Exo-Suit teasers. Just reveal the set already so I can see if I want to buy it :/

And I take back what I said about the videos, I was just impatient :P Now I've actually watched them, they're kind of a cool way to unveil the set :)

I didn't realise the figures were in the set, so I guess in hindsight it works as a promo :P

Does LEGO still have ties with Shell?

I assume so, or else the story would not exist :P

Ah, it seems LEGO sells poly bags through Shell stations during certain promotions. I thought they meant actual Shell sets like they had before Octan.
