Good figs, ok set[edit | edit source]

Minifigures[edit | edit source]

The minifigures are to me obviously the main reason for buying this set. The Horn Company Trooper would have to be my favourite, with two new 2011 pistol pieces. Printed legs, and special printing on the torso and helmet make the trooper a real standout. Also in the set is an ARF Trooper, which has a great new helmet mould and nice printing. The torso and legs are the same as a standard Clone Trooper, but that isn't really a letdown at all to me, as the trooper depecited has the same armour as a standard trooper. Finally, there are also two Bomb Squad Troopers. Don't get me wrong, I like the troopers, but probably would have preferred the standard white helmet with the orange printing, as opposed to the orange helmet with white printing- the white printing just doesn't have the same nice shiny colour that normal trooper's helmets do, though I can understand why this was done with manufacturing costs, etc. Also, having two of these in the set doesn't really sit right with me, it's a battle pack, and to many, an army builder, but what are you going to do with an enitre legion of bomb diffusers? Again, I like the design of the figure and everything, but I just don't really think the figures fit great with this set.

BARC Speeder[edit | edit source]

What can I say? It's a speeder. To me, a speeder of this general type in a battle pack is getting a bit cliché- 2007: Clone Battle Pack, 2009: Assassin Battle Pack, 2010: Snowtrooper Battle Pack, and the 2007 and 2010 packs had another structure to go with it. A couple of interesting parts, but on the whole pretty unremarkable. A nice thing I've noticed though is that the speeder in the 7869 Battle For Geonosis is of the same design, but with dark red parts instead of the green ones in the battle packs, so having a few speeders out of the battle packs could complement Luminara's speeder nicely.
