User blog:ToaMeiko/Addressing issues of members in this community on Wikia

From Brickipedia, the LEGO Wiki

Hello,

Recently, there has been an issue with persistent trolling from several users who have been causing intentional damage to Wikia. I'm not talking about minor trolling such as an occasional spam link added to an article or blog comments advertising Brickimedia— I'm talking about more serious things. Some of these things include trolling on Community Central on serious blog posts that affect more wikis than just Brickipedia, and adding obscene material to "Brickia" (lego.wikia.com) that would normally violate Brickipedia policy. Other issues include intentionally attacking Sannse and Jen on Wikia, where they are merely doing their job, and you know what you're doing is just to get a reaction from them. It's rude, hateful, and disrespectful.

Please note, Brickia still has policies. Since none of the admins are able to control the wiki anymore, it appears that users have taken to exploiting the site's vulnerability to damage the Wikia wiki. Users on Brickia, such as ToaMatau2004, are having to suffer the rude and inconsiderate users from Brickimedia, which nobody should have to go through.

Brickimedia's purpose is not to make everyone hate it, so please, stop intentionally damaging our public relations with these childish actions. Keep in mind, Brickia still has the name "Brickipedia" on it. When you're damaging Brickia, you're also tarnishing the Brickipedia name. That hurts not only Wikia but us too. Brickimedia should keep good public relations. If you're so patriotic of Brickimedia to have time to damage its "competitor" as you see it, then you have time to edit here. If you want Brickimedia to do well, you'd edit here, not troll there. Those of you who are only trolling there and chatting here are doing nothing but wasting other peoples' time, so please stop.

From this point forward, if you intentionally try to damage Brickia through trolling, vandalism, or hateful comments, you may face consequences on this wiki. There isn't much we can do to help keep Brickia in good shape since we no longer have our rights there, but consequences placed here are something we can do. If you don't want to face such consequences, then you'd stop harming that wiki and its community.

If you're too apathetic to read anything above, in summary, stop harming Wikia, stop the public hate towards it, and have some respect and common sense. If you fail to do that, you may suffer consequences here.

Thanks,
ToaMeiko, representing the Brickipedia administration

As I said in chat though, trolling him isn't going to make him want to come here.

First off, I believe that you have told others to mess with wikia quite a few times on here and the fact that has happened brings our reputation down a bit. If we ever want LEGO to sponsor us, we all (including me) need to shape up. Some of you may think we are a perfect community but we aren't. Quite honestly everyone except for a select few have been acting pretty negative ever since we moved. So instead of trying to cover up our "competition" with wikia which infact was actually pretty childish, can't we address the problems to the select few instead of trying to make even the good people of these wikis on here sound bad? I understand we are a community but some people really don't deserve the burden of blogs like these. I mean, I've personally learned that just finding your flaws and fixing them are better than telling the community that you are a horrible person and doing nothing to fix it until you understand that it's kinda out of control...

LEGO is not going to sponsor us; if you're referring to the continued negotiations to receive support from the LEGO Group, that is not a sponsorship we are looking for.

This was made as a blog to address the issue with the community. It may be only a few users partaking in the negative actions, but it's an issue among the community, thus the community needs to be aware of it.

It doesn't seem needed, really. A PM could've sufficed

As these actions have been going on for weeks, no, a PM would not suffice.

That's like saying that just removing admins who broke the rules rights would have worked at Brickia :P

I can't believe some users are so stupid not to realise that the only thing damaging the old wiki actually does is make us look bad :/

And it's good that we don't have to go by Wikia's rules here of "doing bad stuff to other wikis shouldn't result in a penalty on other wikis"- I fully support blocks, etc if a user attacks the old wiki.
