What is a Brickipedia shortcut?[edit source]
"Shortcuts" in Brickipedia are a specialized type of Redirection page that can be used to get to a Brickipedia project reference page more quickly.
How to use Brickipedia shortcuts[edit source]
A Brickipedia shortcut can be entered into the Brickipedia search box to quickly bring you to a reference page.
For example, you can type "BP:R" into the search box and click the "Go" button to get to the Brickipedia "Redirect" reference page, instead of having to type "Brickipedia:Redirect".
Alternatively, you can use the shortcut in the URL (web address). For example, you are currently viewing the Brickipedia:Shortcut page in English. The URL is https://en.brickimedia.org/wiki/Brickipedia:Shortcut. You could get from here to the Brickipedia:Redirect project reference page by replacing "Brickipedia:Shortcut" with "BP:R" in the URL (web address) field (followed by "Enter").
Shortcuts are presented in all capital letters ("All-Caps"), but the search box is case-insensitive. For example, in the search box, you can type "bp:r" instead of "BP:R".
However, using the URL method typically requires that you match the capitalization of the shortcut.

Adding shortcut link boxes[edit source]
A shortcut link box (the "shortcut template") is added to the entry source ("Editing" page) using [[Template:Shortcut|{{Shortcut|[[BP:<x>]]}}]].
For example, placing the shortcut template and substituting SHORT for <X> gives the template viewable at the top of the page: [[Template:Shortcut|{{Shortcut|BP:SHORT}}]].
