The TH Striker is a rebel ship built and designed by BrickfilmNut. It uses only pieces from 7660 Naboo N-1 Starfighter and Vulture Droid and 7754 Home One Mon Calamari Star Cruiser, and was entered into Brickimedia's 2014 Comic-Con contest, where it won in the Star Wars category.
Description
The cockpit is placed at the front of the ship. It features seating for one minifigure (in this case, the A-Wing Pilot) and several controls, including a targeting computer. The cockpit opens up through the use of a hinge at the top and back. To the side of the cockpit are two very small yellow laser cannons, and, closer to the edges of the ship, some larger white ones.
Behind the cockpit of the ship is the charge storage and dropping component. Charges can be placed into the holding via openings at the top, and can later be dropped through the manipulation of some axles at the bottom. Behind these is the space for a droid co-pilot, and behind further is a laser turret. The turret can be raised and lowered, and swiveled around with a rod at the back of the ship. On the sides of this portion of the ship are two large engines, and on the sides of the turret, above the engines, are the upwards-angled wings. Each wing contains a flick-fire missile (which actually fires very well) and is attached to the main body with some hinges.
Finally, at the back of the ship is a large exhaust port, and the rod for manipulating the turret. The underside of the ship contains the axles which, when pulled back, drop the charges. Nearer to the front of the ship is the fold-out landing gear, constructed out of TECHNIC pieces.
Also included in the custom, but not as part of the official contest entry, is a small control station made out of the remaining pieces from the two sets used. This control station features a holographic map, chair for Admiral Ackbar, mini deck with controls, and a satellite dish.
Background
The TH striker was an innovative attack vehicle constructed by the rebels for use against Lord Business after he launched his attack. The A-Wing Pilot was chosen to pilot it alongside a blue astromech co-pilot, while a crew monitored activity on the ground. With dropping charges, laser cannons, missiles, and a rotating laser turret, the ship is capable of taking on a large plethora of Micro Managers single-handed. After the fight with Lord Business, the TH Striker was modified for use against Imperial Forces.
