Forum:Move/Plan

So, we can move out by the end of the week if we want to. Let's go through what needs to be done:

Technical

• Assemble the technical A-team Done! Myself, NXT, Lcawte, FB100Z.
• Buy domain and hosting, will be done after some other steps are done. $180 for three years.
• Set up MediaWiki, get database dump and upload to new project, separating it into four projects at the same time.
  • meta, en, images, customs
  • fr, ja, de in the future

Community

• Revamp policies, establish final versions to implement at the new site.
• Notify people of the new site
• Establish a date when we move.
• Contact Huw and other fansites getting them to change their links, and advertise the new site.

• I say we move out as soon a we are sure we are ready. In the meantime we could draw up some sort of "Constitution". Of course us users would not to vote to pass it but it would be a good start for us moving. --Brick bobby talk it's a trap! 20:37, February 5, 2013 (UTC)

Although I've said this in chat millions of times, the outside people should also know. In IRC, which will be the type of chat we use, IPs are completely available to find. Can we make some type of coding thing that disables anyone from finding anyone's IP? (It would also get rid of the point of Checkusers to not do this...) User:Awesomeknight1234/SigbyCP
