Ghostbusters is a theme introduced in 2016, based on the original movies and the July 2016 reboot film.

History

The first Ghostbusters-related set was released in 2014 as a LEGO Ideas set- 21108 Ghostbusters, and was based upon the original Ghostbusters series. With the launch of LEGO Dimensions, multiple level and fun packs were announced, also based on the original series. The first set to be released under the Ghostbusters theme, 75827 Firehouse Headquarters, was released in 2016. On November 3, 2015, Mark Caplan, Sony's senior vice president of global consumer products, revealed that LEGO has a license for the Ghostbusters reboot film. Paul Feig, the director of the reboot film, revealed the first set from the new film, 75828 Ecto-1 & 2.
