Here, I present to Template:Username my review of the BIONICLE set 8572 Tahu Nuva. (In time for the new sets, how nice :P)

To start off, this is my favourite BIONICLE that I own, not just because it is one of the few which I have intact from my childhood (minus one of the blades, so technically it is not intact), but because of it, well, being the best…

The Mask

Mask removed, showing the generic BIONICLE head piece

This set, much like every other BIONICLE set comes with a mask that can be placed over one of the generic BIONICLE head pieces. The mask that came with this set is a red mask, just like the mask that came with the previous Tahu and is placed over one of the aforementioned generic head pieces, but this one has a transparent pink brain and eyes, even though in the photo it looks red. The mask is also one of the main reason for this set looking as great as it does.

The Blade(s)/Lava Board

The blade(s) can either be attached to the hand(s) as a weapon(s) or to the feet as some kind of lava board, based on the art for this set. Personally I much prefer to have the blade attached to the hand as I only have one of the two that originally came with the set, so attaching it to only one of the feet would look a bit odd.

Tahu

Now I come onto the bulk of the set Tahu itself (Not sure if gender applies to BIONICLEs, but I remember this having a male voice actor in Mask of Light). Tahu being the main part of the set is quite obviously the best part, with its action feature and ‘’great’’ poseability. The action feature is one of the main reasons why I love this set so much, because unlike the later BIONICLEs, this, like other earlier BIONICLEs had things they could do if you were to twist a gear on their back, such as there’s one that kicks but Tahu simply flails his arms up and down, which I find to be a great feature of the set that adds to the already great aesthetics.

Conclusion

It may look a bit bear and simple to some but to me, this will always be the best BIONICLE, just simply due how great a set it is.

BONUS

I also have a cool mini version of this set that depicts Tahu surfing some lava. I think it’s a promotional thing for Mask of Light, its copyrighted 2003, which only strengthens my belief of it being a promotional thing for Mask of Light. It consists of a lump of plastic for the lava and Tahu’s lava board with Tahu being of some kind of strong rubber. Although it clearly consists of two pieces, they are non-detachable, I’m not sure why anyone would want to take it apart as it would look weird with Tahu in such a pose.

Nice review! The old BIONICLE sets seem more like action figures than the new ones, which seem to be......well LEGO! :P

All the same, this set is pretty nice.
