Source?[edit source]
Do we have a source for the theme being named Top Gear? If not, I suggest we leave it as Super Cars until we get confirmation. BrikkyyTalk
- The theme was rumoured as a Top Gear license before we started calling it Super Cars (see Eurobricks discussion forums) http://www.2ttoys.nl/contents/nl/d227_Lego_Speed_Champions.html --ToaMeiko (talk) 01:56, 22 September 2014 (UTC)
- Also in 2013, there was an official survey asking what could make potentially good LEGO Top Gear sets. LEGO always begins development of new sets two years ahead (or earlier) of their scheduled release, therefore that makes the planning in 2013 relevant to a possible 2015 release at the earliest. This also won't be the first time that LEGO and Top Gear have worked together in recent years. When 2015 set name rumours started coming out, it was Top Gear that was rumoured with these set names. We're also rumoured to be getting LEGO Top Gear apps [1]. --ToaMeiko (talk) 02:05, 22 September 2014 (UTC)
- I realize that there is sufficient evidence towards the theme being Top Gear, but I do believe that we should leave the article's name ambiguous so we do not mislead the readers of the wiki. If we leave it as "Top Gear", the wiki as a whole could get blamed for misleading people. I believe, until there is more information available, a conjecture template and a note saying something like "it is rumored that this theme is based off of the British television show 'Top Gear'" should be added to the page

- I kind of agree with Brikky. The only source besides rumors I've seen is from legomilk who is usually accurate, but he was also the one that told us about Polar Xxpress (which might have been a codename for Galaxy Squad, but still). Berrybrick (talk) 00:24, 25 September 2014 (UTC)
