Template:Speedydelete[edit source]
Hi LegoFan. May I restore my version of the Speedydelete template? I don't quite understand the advantage of the latest version. It seems to cover the exact same functionality as mine, except now, to add a custom message (a very common procedure with that template), one has to add "custom|" in. This is extra typing in use of what should be a speedy (badum-tish) template, and could also be confusing. It breaks a standard set by many other templates, including Delete, where you just need to add your message in, no "custom|" required. Apologies in advanced, however, if I am missing some of the justification for this revision.
If it's no trouble, please respond underneath, rather than on my talk page. As I am an anonymous contributor, my talk page is not an ideal/reliable place for discussion.
Thanks,

- I dont think it matters how much typing we have to do as long as it works we are fine. So lets leave it the way it is. Thanks. LegoFan4000 talk 23:45, 2 June 2016 (UTC)
- I'd have to say that I agree with the anon, personally. I haven't really had to use a speedy delete template for a few years so maybe my opinion isn't all that relevant, but his/her way sounds more efficient, consistent, and intuitive to me. Maybe you could help me see why the current way is worth keeping? Berrybrick (talk) 23:53, 2 June 2016 (UTC)
- Was typing a response just like that but got into an edit conflict. Anyways, thanks for saying what I wanted to say Berry. :P A point to add is that templates were made to make editing faster and easier, and this edit helps making using it faster and easier.
