Brickipedia:Articles for Deletion

Articles for Deletion is where nominations for pages in need of deletion can be placed.

Before proposing an article for deletion, consider marking it with a maintenance tag instead or propose an article merger.

Note: "Vandal pages" should be marked with {{Speedy}}, and do not need to be discussed here. If you are unsure whether a page should be speedy deleted or not, then nominate it for deletion here and an Administrator will see if it is worth of speedy deletion.

Template:User_meta and Category:Brickipedians who contribute to Brickimedia Meta

Making a proposal just in case. Should we keep this and change it to "Used to contribute to" (past tense), or just delete it? SamanthaNguyen (talk) ShoutWiki Staff 01:19, 7 June 2017 (UTC)

  2. Never really understood how you'd really "contribute to meta" in the first place since it was mainly for image uploads NovaHawk 01:29, 7 June 2017 (UTC)
  3. Ditto. --Jack PhoenixShoutWiki Staff (Contact) 08:20, 7 June 2017 (UTC)

All skins with their own project page along with Brickipedia:Skins

There's not enough content for each skin to have their own project page really. These pages are Brickipedia:Refreshed, Brickipedia:Deep Sea, Brickipedia:Monobook, Brickipedia:Lia, Brickipedia:Quartz, Brickipedia:Custard, and Brickipedia:Skins. Instead, we could just link people for those curious to Special:Preferences to show them what skins they can choose from, as well as Special:Version.

  2. (as an aside, can someone with access please fix the logo on Deep Sea? It's disappeared ever since the files have been moved from Meta. Also if it's possible- any chance of removing the top left sidebar since we're only one wiki now?) NovaHawk 02:01, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
Thanks NovaHawk for posting that! I'll try to get this sorted soon, the issue is because the URL to the logo needs its pathing fixed, which requires fixing up the value for $wgLogo since DeepSea supports that variable. As for the top left sidebar, I've submitted a patch to the master branch of DeepSea at https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/346089/ which will undergo a code review. Once it's passed review, it'll be +2'd (merged) into the repo, and then we'll also have to pull the latest changes from the skin's repo to this wiki since it's currently running an outdated version of the skin. Once that's done, I'll go around and edit MediaWiki:Deepsea.css on here and on GBCW since they're referencing the ID #p-media, which will (soon) no longer exist. SamanthaNguyen (talk) 03:03, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
Hey, so we can't pull changes from DeepSea repo for now just yet (although the patch has been merged into the repo), but I've made some temporary changes to MediaWiki:Deepsea.css. Once we get back on track we can remove these changes, but for now these 2 CSS hacks do almost the same thing. SamanthaNguyen (talk) 23:29, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for taking care of all that :) Sorry I didn't think it would have been such a problem to get the logo fixed, wouldn't have asked if I knew NovaHawk 00:24, 4 April 2017 (UTC)

Brickipedia:Beta period tasklist

This page was imported from Meta and was originally for the Beta phase a few years ago, should we delete it or keep it as an archive for historical reference? (Won't hurt to keep it either)

  1. No reason not to. LegoFan4000 talk 23:10, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
    • Didn't you delete the April Fools Day and the old forums and all that other stuff? Surely that is just as worthy for historical reference (perhaps more so as this is meta stuff). Either we keep all old rubbish or none afaic. CJC95 (talk) 21:30, 13 August 2016 (UTC)

  1. Can't really see a need for Bricki to archive Meta stuff that isn't currenty being used on Bricki. NovaHawk 05:54, 10 August 2016 (UTC)
  2. Per NovaHawk. More than focusing on such old and outdated things, we should look into expanding Help:Brickimedia and such pages to ensure that we have an accurate historical record of what happened and when.

While being precise is always important, we don't need to be too precise, as in "Jack Phoenix deployed extension X at 1 March 2016 13:45 UTC" but rather focus on the big picture. --Jack Phoenix (talk) 14:48, 10 August 2016 (UTC)

  1. They're way out of date and serve no purpose- we have categories that produce exactly the same lists except they're up to date. NovaHawk 05:54, 10 August 2016 (UTC)

  4. Would need a lot of work now that LEGO has updated to 5-digit codes for regular products; categorization is the best way to go... Berrybrick (talk) 21:36, 13 August 2016 (UTC)
