Crazed Penguin's Statement: Despite only being on here for 8 months, I feel that I am ready for such rights, I know there will be heavy support, But I'm mostly wondering what the feedback will be, I'm a community user who participates on forums very often. I already have Rollback and Patroller, I may have gotten into a fight late last year but I can happily say, We are all friends now. I have coolen down alot. I was chatmod until it was disabled then not given back the rights (odd), I hope you understand what I mean, Please make this my birthday present. --User:Crazed Penguin/spook 02:16, February 7, 2012 (UTC)

  • Great User yet: I have concerns regarding the maturity of the user. He seems to be quite biased if you will when it comes to some users. Also concerning British English this user needs work on. Calling new users blog trolling or spam when it is not. Another thing is ranting isn't exactly a good admin quality. Also my last thing is revoloving around the point that he did vandalise the MegaBloks Wiki and wouldn't have appoligized if he hadn't been caught. Something else is I don't how seeing "meh" is helpful on forums. Sorry if this seems like very harsh but it is constructive critism. User:Mr. Minifigure/sig 02:16, February 7, 2012 (UTC)
I understand completely. The MegaBloks thing I've tryed to forget. Please understand that, That moment was a month or so into my time here. --User:Crazed Penguin/spook 02:19, February 7, 2012 (UTC)
  • Somewhat of an oppose... he's not quite as serious as the admins we're used to. User:1999bug/sig1 02:15, February 8, 2012 (UTC)
    NBP3.0 User:Captain Jag/sig1 03:09, February 7, 2012 (UTC)
But he's inactive. Another reason why I think we need to fill the "Funny but very serious admin" role. :D --User:Crazed Penguin/spook 04:02, February 7, 2012 (UTC)
NBP is more of a jokester, he's very serious as far as his role. I'm not sure if CP's serious enough to handle sysop rights. User:1999bug/sig1 02:15, February 8, 2012 (UTC)

- I'd like to see more time editing here, and some more maturity. I'm not too keen to support an admin who was banned from chat less than a month ago either. That being said, Crazed Penguin is a great user who is a definite asset to Brickipedia. I just don't think that he is at the point of adminship yet. User:Ajraddatz/sig 05:20, February 7, 2012 (UTC)
  • Oppose - Per above, concerns with maturity and attitude towards some users. - CJC 19:36, February 7, 2012 (UTC)
  • Per others. I know that you can be mature, but sometimes you just don't let things go. And we really don't need a funny admin to lighten the mood. Any user could probably do that. Berrybrick 19:57, February 7, 2012 (UTC)
  • Oppose sorry, you're just not the kind of person I'd expect to be admin. Try aiming for something smaller. Like chat mod rights. --From the desk of Br1ck an1mator 19:39, February 7, 2012 (UTC)

I was only asked to set this up for KingPinn2 (by himself). Hopefully, he will fill in "the detailed explanation". Berrybrick 20:03, February 10, 2012 (UTC)

First of all, I want to thank Berrybrick for posting this forum for me. Second of all, I think I should be an admin because of my contributions. If it weren't for me, we would of never known about LEGO (feature film) (or Build Together). If you think I haven't done anything (cough, User:Clone gunner commander jedi), just look at my contributions and you'll see what I've done. Please support me! -User:Kingpinn2

  • Nope, this user should NOT have sysop tools. Why? His attitude at some points gets sort of questionable and immature a bit. This is my main concern. Also, for your description on "why you want to be an admin" (the "if it weren't for me, we wouldn't have known about so and so...") - what on earth does this have to do with sysop tools? Seriously? No offense, but this user has a pretty long heck of a way to go until he gets admin rights (unless you comepletely change your PoV and act more maturely). • I can see I have 8 opposing users and 0 supporters. Power Jim posted "his not a very active user". First of all, "he is not a very active user", second of all, I'm not that active all the time because I have 4 siblings at home and I'm asked most of the time to do chores. Cligra and User:King of Nynrah think I'm not mature enough, when was the last time I did something immature. I could go on finding solutions for all of your comments but I rather not. -User:Kingpinn2
Unfortunately, this is a place where the community decides if you would be a good admin, not a place for you to decided whether or not certain people should be allowed to express their opinions. User:Ajraddatz/sig 23:58, February 10, 2012 (UTC)

    • He had admin rights before, and then they were removed. The reasons for removing were as follows: blocking any users that could be underage, using his userpage to rant, going inactive to cool down, his attitude, and enforcing the chat guidelines to the point of driving users away. Since he came back, he hasn't blocked any users (:D), and I haven't seen him using his userpage to rant. He has not gone inactive. I haven't seen him enforcing the chat guidelines (at all (funny that :P)) but I have been talking with him a lot recently, and I don't think that he will either block users without proof or reason, enforce guidelines excessively. I haven't seen him having a attitude of being more important than other people, though he may have. Has anyone seen an example of any of these since he came back? • Would you be able to provide an example of these "demonstrations"? NovaHawk 05:07, January 23, 2012 (UTC)
      • It was due to earlier when we were discussing possible biased chat moderators. First, I was suspecting two chat mods were biased: CGCJ and 1999bug (due to CGCJ unbanning Prisinorzero last month and was accused of being biased for unbanning him). I then decided to investigate the matter, and asked 1999bug his thoughts on the matter. We chatted, and I thought I had a conclusion. Although, I decided to go to Crazed Penguin and see his thoughts on the matter. I then told him I thought bug was being a bit biased as a mod for unbanning Prisinorzero earlier (he was already unbanned) (when zero should've been banned). 1999bug is mad because I told him I thought he wasn't a biased mod, then I went to Crazed Penguin saying I thought about him being a biased moderator. Also, another admin agrees with me on this matter. I was merely trying to investigate.. it's not like I hurt anyone.. Since when has a user lost rights to investigate matters in which he/she feels that is fishy? So I have no idea why 1999bug has to get offended and try to stir me up (it doesn't stir me up.) by opposing my RfA. User:Skdhjf/SigT 05:17, January 23, 2012 (UTC)
Tats still showin WHY he should be admin. He isn't stirred about alot that happend today. --User:Crazed Penguin/spook 08:33, January 23, 2012 (UTC)
Per above... Actually, all I did today was try to investigate a matter I thought should be resolved. User:Skdhjf/SigT 08:35, January 23, 2012 (UTC)
  • Oppose for now. A nice guy, but we need more time to decide whether he deserves the tools back, and will keep his cool under the constant stress that admins have to deal with, I think. Might change my mind sometime after posting this. -King of Nynrah Talk 17:58, January 23, 2012 (UTC)

Closing

Not done - I am closing this request as not done. Regardless of the system of voting used here, there is only 67% support for Skd becoming an admin, and that just isn't enough. Add to that the fact that none of the supporters actually presented any evidence to show how Skd would be a good admin, and you get a "not done" with both the straw poll system and the consensus system.

That being said, I am going to leave this request open for two more days to encourage people on both sides to expand their arguments, and hopefully get a bit more input. This decision of mine can also be challenged during that time. User:Ajraddatz/sig 17:36, January 30, 2012 (UTC)

  • Has a tendency to change policies without consensus, an action which is among one of the last qualities I would like to see in an administrator. Was also extremely unimpressed with this, claiming "technical reasons" as to why the username template had to be removed even though it was simply because they didn't like the template- after that I have a hard time trusting any "reasons" they give. Not to mention the constant complaining about admins which was much more prevalent when they first got there- if we're all so horrible, why would you want to be one? Also, has less than 1000 edits in the mainspace so not extremely active there, I can't really see a huge need for the tools, and think there are other users more active in the mainspace which would benefit more from them. That said, I don't think this user is a "bad user" or anything like that, and has definitely done a great job lately helping out with various things including getting the reviews and customs stuff set up NovaHawk 03:05, November 30, 2011 (UTC)

However, as Mr. Minifigure said, input into forums is lacking, with only one edit there. I'm not saying that I think admins should spend their lives in the forums and nowehere else- most of the time I would rather see admins out in the mainspace than in the forums- but at the same time a little more input into decisions being made in the forums would be nice. A friendly and consistently active user who's been with us for over one and a half years now, and has made over 5000 edits in that time (over 3000 of them mainspace). He knows the MoS well, and has been a great QCG member. I've never seen Berrybrick misuse his existing rights, and as far as I've seen has been great in any interperonal interactions. I really can't see why he shouldn't have these tools. NovaHawk 12:33, October 19, 2011 (UTC)

Well, Before I make my decision on leavin for real-life reasons or not, I realised If I stay these tools could come in handy. You will probably say I'm too new to become admin but On other wikis I contribute to I am mostly admin. My Alien Conquest Wiki is run by me and 2 other main admins. I run most of the Wiki, Interface, User Rights etc. On Brickipedia I am very active. I'm editing everyday and enjoying my time here. Before you oppose and say "I keep reverting your edits so no" I have contributed to many set pages to add prices and I love all users. I try to be as nice as possible to users. I comment on almost of of the blogs with good words, reasoning and more. On the blog about Lego themes getting violent I put a great rant about It. I can get slightly angry at times but usually from school related topics. I am often given awards for my edits and contributions. On all the wikis I contribute to I usually get noticed for a good reason. I hope you understand I can benefit from these tools. I don't want the tools because I think it will make me better, But to help to wiki. Please understand what I'm saying. I could be the first Australian admin. Still concerns with maturity, sorry. You're also very new to Brickipedia. Most admins don't get the tools until after at least half a year (though the average would be around on year). Questions for the candidate

  • (I'm starting a new section here, where we can ask the candidate questions concerning the RfA. This is an open-book exam; feel free to look things up to answer the questions.) Question - What is your view on adminship, and the role of administrators in the community? FB100Ztalkcontribs 16:38, October 5, 2011 (UTC)
    • I view is school cleaner like job, An extra tool to help editing and help the community. The reason I tjink I want it is because I feel i can use These extra tools. -- Sir Penguin! 21:34, October 5, 2011 (UTC)
  • Question - Do people often revert your edits? How do you feel when that happens? FB100Ztalkcontribs 22:39, October 5, 2011 (UTC)
    • Annoyed, I feel all edits should stay. I know everyone makes mistakes. I feel they moniter me and my edits. I hate it when someone reverts them. It's a factual wiki. It dosn't need to be 100% reliable. -- Sir Penguin! 22:41, October 5, 2011 (UTC)
  • Question - Have you been in any editor-editor conflicts? How did you handle the situation? FB100Ztalkcontribs 22:42, October 5, 2011 (UTC)
    • Yes, I have. I let them save first. Kindness is important on Wikia. As a very nice user I always respect people. -- Sir Penguin! 22:43, October 5, 2011 (UTC)

        • P.S.S I mean does this help you vote on my rquest? -- Sir Penguin! 22:49, October 5, 2011 (UTC)
          • That's all the questions I have, thanks. I'm doing a sort of "interview" with you to help me and other users learn more about you as a candidate. It isn't an actual vote, but an addendum to the discussion that can persuade or dissuade the !voters. FB100Ztalkcontribs 22:53, October 5, 2011 (UTC)

Hello. Today I have decided to run for adminastrative rights for numerous reasons. My first reason is, that I am a friendly user that has helped a numerous amount of users: and have detected a bunch of sockpuppets. My second reason is that I work very hard here on Brickipedia and have created 100+ articles since I have joined. I have rollbaker rights along with patroller and chat-mod; and I'm proud to say that I have only kickbanned one person from chat ever. I have contributed every day making about 20 edits or more each day. I do not vandalize and know right from wrong. How can one more admin hurt? • Neutral (sorry Mr. Minifigure, I really don't have anything against you, and feel bad about voting on this right after voting against you on the QCG request). It is basically about the incident Ajr listed. If the page wasn't intended to be created, it was either: intended for another wiki or some sort of joke which you didn't intend to go through with and save, but both cases do show a certain immaturity that isn't exactly looked for in an administrator. But, other than that, all other edits do appear to be great. NovaHawk 00:15, September 13, 2011 (UTC)

Okee, I've known this guy for a long ole time. He may want to say more, but I'll probably cover it all here. A few points I'd like to point out that would make him a great admin candidate:

1. With both Mykheh and Skdhjf no longer admins, we could use someone new.

2. Serious experience here, almost the Yoda of Brickipedia. GG360 has seen a lot here, active or not.

3. This user also has a very extensive knowledge of LEGO, which is very handy as an admin.

4. I honestly trust this user, and you guys should too. He will not mistreat his admin tools, nor will he leave if he gets them. The only reason he went inactive was because he didn't have the admin he had wanted since the first day he started. I know when I started I wanted admin too, that was always my goal. Same goes for GG. I think, as a thanks from Bricki, he deserves it.

Before you leave votes saying he isn't active enough, look at how much his activity has increased. And think, "Why would I oppose this user?" GameGear360 would make an excellent administrator to Brickipedia, you should all see this. And if GG wants to replace this with his own speech/wants to add below, feel free to do so.

Ok, I've talked to this user a lot. I know he has a speech and all that he has prepared specially for this, so I won't say too much. But Mykheh comes to me with a lot of requests that I think, if he had admin, he would be able to fulfill himself. That way I can stay lazy. :P But on a serious note, Mykheh is maturity at its peek. And he notices vandals and unnecessary pages before anyone else. He would make a great admin, the only reason I didn't do this earlier is because experience. But I think he's ready. Also, Mykheh, if wish to re-write this with your speech, that is perfectly fine.

Speech

Why do users wish to become an administrator? Is it for popularity, or for the rights to be higher in ranks than other users? The best reason- to help better the wiki. This is the exact reason why I am applying. I joined Brickipedia on March 2, 2010. My edits are always trusted, even when I began editing. No user has ever reverted any of my edits. Have I had an edit undone? Yes, it was a good faith edit, but it did not comply with our MoS and Policies. But this was back then. I now know how Brickipedia operates, and have participated in forums. Now you say, "How will I use these added rights?" The usage of these rights will be used properly. You have seen the usage of the rights I have now, and my requests placed on the Administrators' notice board. I am a good steward of my Quality Check Group, Rollback, Patroller, and my newly added Chat moderator rights. To date, I have reverted over approximately 15 cases of vandalism and spam, and have requested the blocking of more than seven IP's and users (even three in one day). This goes to show those of you who may think that I may not have enough experience, that I do have the experience required. Now, with the added rights, I will help improve the wiki a great deal (I know nominees say this, but I do mean this). As UltrasonicNXT said, "How can me becoming an admin hurt the wiki?" An arduous task? It is worth it.

"1 year doesn't do it-some people take less than that, some people take more-it's really about dedication, and what you are doing-if you are fulfilling the roles of an admin (eg: finding pages that need to be deleted without a discussiong, warning and reverting vandalizm, etc), then administrative tools would be merited." -BobaFett2(source)

Secondly, I always contact an adminastrator when a vandal is doing stuff and I think since I am normally always on that this could be handeled a lot faster. I also help users with problems and try my best to improve our wiki. I do have expierence being an admin on other wikis and I have created two of my own wikis. I hope that you will take the time to vote and before you oppose suggest why I could be better and why you would vote for me. As my signature says keep going forward. This is what keeps me going and lets me see the light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you fro reading. User:Mr. Minifigure/sig

          • nice, but editing isn't everything. What about forums? I've hardly ever seen him on there (lol I hardly go there either.) But form what I've seen, admins have to be prudent and discerning to close those forums. For example, let's say a user who is a "buddy" of Mr. M and another user who is like his "wsrot enemy" are quarrelling on a forum over something. Sadly, his "enemy" is actually correct, or has more convincing facts. Would Mr. M side with his "friend", or his "enemy"? If he sides with his "friend", people could say that he's biased or something like that. But if he sides with his "enemy", his "friend" could be outraged at him. Yet he'll be demonstrating fairness and logic. If Mr. M is willing to get justice done, and opnely demonstrates this, I'll change me mind. User:Happybrick5/SickSig 04:41, July 16, 2011 (UTC)
  • I do edit on forums but I can't really say I spend to much time on them. Most of the forums I vote on I can't really say don't get that big though where my opinion is used very much because they are so small. User:Mr. Minifigure/sig

  1. Sorry, but I have quite a number of concerns regarding your capability as an admin. Firstly, your skill in the English language. I've noticed that your spelling of words and grammar is relatively inconsistent. Also, your understanding of tenses in a paragraph is, forgive me for saying so, rather limited in various instances. Secondly, I believe you definitely need a lot more experience. You've only been here for about three months, and from what I have seen, your experience in conflicts is quite limited. Besides acting quite rashly in some of your previous cases of conflict, I still tend to see you at times the reverting of good faith edits. Please do not take this as an insult, but rather view this as constructive criticism. User:Fudgepie/sig 19:03, July 7, 2011 (UTC)

      • If I'm not mistaken, Swipe is underage. There's also the fact that I just don't think it's worth having more admins right now. I have no issue with quantity, but the fact that many people are complaining and nobody is actually doing much about it tells you that you could focus on things other than that. User:BobaFett2/sig2

  3. Strong oppose. Not right now. One of the reasons I supported the admin noms Cligra and UltrasonicNXT was because of their maturity. I can see that they are, or over a certain age. I think Brickipedia needs such admins. User:Mykheh/sig 16:51, July 15, 2011 (UTC)
  4. Very strong oppose. This is nothing against you Swipe, but it seems that you have little to no experience/understanding in the Administrative branch. I don't see you much active in the community as much -- and there are others I'd rather nominate besides yourself.:) User:Tatooine/SigT 21:35, July 15, 2011 (UTC)

  • Hah, so you say we should pick up a random user and give him admin rights and say "Learn as you go bud!" That = stupid. User:Tatooine/SigT 16:43, July 16, 2011 (UTC)
  • Yes! It's like allowing someone to drive a lamgoghini (or however it's spelled) so they can drive better. How ridicoulous is that. User:Happybrick5/SickSig 01:53, July 17, 2011 (UTC)
  • @FB100Z Hey, I don't have any of those so called "user rights" and I already know how to edit. Just change something on a page for the better, and then click publish. You don't even need to be a registered user to do that. :p User:Happybrick5/SickSig 15:40, July 17, 2011 (UTC)
  • Straw man attack. Swipe has plenty of experience with editing; this "random user" you select probably doesn't. You both have fairly good points regarding his maturity, however. FB100Ztalkcontribs 00:45, July 23, 2011 (UTC)

UltrasonicNXT (2)[edit source]

The following section is preserved as an archive. Please do not modify it. The result was Nomination successful

Hello. After two months since my previous request I am going to nominate myself for adminiship. I have been here on Brickipedia for over six months and believe that I would be a worthy candidate for adminship, and that me having these rights would ultimately help Brickipedia. Over the past few months I have nominated many articles for (sometimes speedy) deletion. I am an active QCG member, and am active in the forums. I have left many messages on good and bad faith, users and IPs, talk pages. I have reverted many bad/incorrect edits, and added many maintenance tags to pages that need it. Since my last nomination, I have become more experienced, and I ask those of you who said "We have enough admins" last time to consider this: How can me becoming an admin hurt the wiki?

Thankyou for reading, User:UltrasonicNXT/Signature 17:16, July 7, 2011 (UTC)
