Brickipedia News:Taylor Swift mosaic built at LEGOLAND

Recently, a vote was conducted to decide who should get a giant mosaic built out of LEGO bricks, to be displayed at LEGOLAND Winsdor to celebrate the opening of the Friends-themed Heartlake City section of the park. Swift won by by a huge margin crushing competitors Zoella, Ella Henderson, Rita Ora, Olly Murs and even her best friend Ed Sheeran!

Master LEGO Model Makers designed a template for visitors to complete. The visitors then filled in the gaps by building one of 140 small individual sections, using a total of 35,840 individual bricks, eventually creating the final image.

'We wanted to celebrate the opening of our new Lego Friends area in a big way and this giant mosaic certainly does that,' said LEGOLAND Windsor Resort's PR Manager, Lauren Moss. 'Heartlake City is all about friendship and fun, so we asked youngsters to choose who their best celebrity friend might be.'

Heartlake City opened to the public on May 23 and the Taylor Swift mosaic will be on display until the 31st.
