Ekimu is a BIONICLE character introduced in the 2015 reboot where he is Makuta's brother and the wearer of the Mask of Creation. He is available in 70795 Mask Maker vs. Skull Grinder, which also includes Kulta, a larger villain, and will be rereleased in the standalone 71312 Ekimu the Mask Maker, where he is a Toa-sized figure.

Ekimu and his brother, Makuta, were mask-makers on Okoto, crafting masks for the island's inhabitants. He wore the Mask of Creation and wielded a Hammer of Power to craft masks. At some point, a sacred law was established that a mask shall never be created with more than one elemental power within it, as the mask would become too powerful.

Ekimu and Makuta respected this law for a long time, but Makuta eventually grew jealous of Ekimu, and crafted the Mask of Ultimate Power. Makuta donned the mask, and it takes control of him. Ekimu, realizing what his brother has done, knocked the mask off Makuta with his hammer. Tremors shook Okoto, and Ekimu and Makuta both fell into a deep slumber while their masks were scattered about the island.

The six tribal protectors discovered Ekimu's body in a crater, and he unconsciously prophesied the coming of the Toa. Ekimu's maskless face was covered with a gold and blue version of the one which the protectors wear, and he was entombed for a thousand years.

Later, Ekimu is able to create a telepathic link with Tahu through the Golden Mask of Fire after the six Toa have united. In the Ancient City, the Toa find Ekimu's tomb and awaken him. After the Toa are defeated by Kulta the Skull Grinder, the leader of the Skull Army who is being controlled by Makuta, Ekimu defeats Kulta in combat and reclaims the Mask of Creation from him. Afterward, Ekimu recreats the Toa's destroyed masks, and later replaces them with the Masks of Unity so that they can find the Elemental Creatures.
