Forum:Tense to use in date articles
I've seen some inconsistency in this area. Are we supposed to use present tense or past tense? I'm guessing the latter, but I just want to make sure. BrickfilmNut I don't think this has been discussed for date articles, so starting a forum (please correct me if I'm wrong). Personally, I'd go for past tense for things in past years (eg "2011: Lego Star Wars III was released"), present if it refers to something on the current day ("2013: LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is released"), and future for things in the future ("2014: LEGO Star Wars V will be released"). Although, I doubt present would be used, since it'd only be valid for one day... NovaHawk 03:03, January 29, 2013 (UTC)
per Jag.
So, it seems we have a consensus. Is it safe to implement this now? User:BrickfilmNut/sig Not really date articles, but one think I don't understand is why we use past tense in backgrounds when it is referring to an ongoing condition. Could someone explain why? Maybe I am just missing something, but I thought it should be brought up. Berrybrick 20:03, January 29, 2013 (UTC)
