Bard is a minifigure from The Hobbit first released in December 2013.
Description[edit | edit source]
Bard's variant in 79013 Lake-town Chase has Qui-Gon Jinn's hairpiece in black. He has black sideburns, a beard and moustache in the same colour. Bard's external facial expression shows him being angry. His torso depicts him wearing a brown jacket with fur on the inside, and two shirts beneath it: one olive, and one grey. His arms are dark brown and his hands are flesh-coloured. The torso printing continues on the legs. Shown on the legs' bottom are brown boots. Bard carries a longbow.
The Battle of Five Armies variant of Bard also uses the same hairpiece and head. His torso and arms in this variant are blue, and the hips and legs reddish brown. The torso, hips, and legs are printed to depict a long, blue coat over equally-long grey chain-mail armour, which itself is depicted as being on top of an olive green shirt. Some of Bard's chest is shown at the top of the torso printing as well. The blue coat has brown outlines, and a brown belt is printed above the hips. Bard also wields a longbow. This variant is from the Comic-Con Exclusive Bard the Bowman Giveaway, though it has been revealed that the figure was only a preview figure rather than an exclusive, and will have a wider release in a future Hobbit set.

Bard, also known as Bard the Bowman, was a man of Lake-town, descendant of Lord Girion of Dale. He killed the dragon Smaug, whence he earned the appellation "Bowman". He later fought in the Battle of the Five Armies, and afterwards became king of Dale.

Bard the Bowman
Bard the Bowman is from Lake-town, and is a descendent from Lord Girion of Dale. Although some people will say he is grumpy and “grim-faced”, Bard is loyal to Lake-town and will do everything he can to protect his city, even from the dragon Smaug!
