Manufacturing Plastic

From Brickipedia, the LEGO Wiki

The standard plastic that LEGO use today is ABS plastic. Over the years, LEGO has experimented with different plastics. However, ABS remains the standard, as it has since 1963. LEGO is currently exploring a more environmentally friendly material called Resin and hoping to develop the quality to levels comparable to ABS for implementation by 2030.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • The LEGO Group uses a different plastic for Collectable Minifigures and their accessories, as well as for the Ninjago Minifigures that comes with spinners and their accessories. The plastic is cheaper and comes from China.
