7314 Recon-Mech RP is a Life on Mars set released in 2001. It contains the Martian Antares.
Description[edit | edit source]
The set consists of a medium-sized, Martian-style, red-and-grey mech. The mech is in humanoid style, with two legs, arms, a joining body, and some semblance of a head. The two legs are built with SNOT techniques, on which is placed armor. The legs themselves are somewhat posable, with ankle movements in one direction, no bendable knees, and two-planes-of-motion hips. At the farthest extremity of the legs, large, flat feet are placed.
The two arms are built similar, but with different endings: the left arm (looking on to the front of the mech) features a flamethrower, and the right army features a large grabbing claw. Both arms are connected to tubing, which in turn connects to the back of the mech, assumedly providing power to the appendages. The arms themselves have several joints, including a shoulder joint and a wrist joint.
The body is mostly built using stacking style, with little to no special techniques. A windshield serves as the covering for a cockpit, inside which Antares may be placed, allowing him to operate the machine. Several levers and viewscreens are built inside the cockpit as means for Antares to control his mech. What is assumed to be a power tank is affixed onto the back, as well as the two aforementioned tubes leading to the arms. Two glowing objects on sticks, assumedly lights, are place between this power tank and the body. Twin ray guns can be seen on the sides of the body, at about cockpit level.
