76025 Green Lantern vs. Sinestero.jpg

As shocking as it may sound, it turns out there are DC heroes other than Batman and Superman, as LEGO have now announced a Green Lantern set. Coming in January, for just shy of $20, is 76025 Green Lantern vs. Sinestro. Batman also appears in the set, because the kids love Batman, in his space outfit, recently seen in the trailers for LEGO Batman 3.

I don't love it, but for $20 the DC fanboy in me will probably find it in my collection in a few months. I like the figures though.

Executive: "So, what's the selling point for this set, Bob?"
Designer: "Well, the Green Lantern fanboys will buy it.
Executive: "I'm afraid that doesn't cut it."
Designer: "..........Batman?"

Executive: "SET GREENLIT!"

I don't care as long as it gets us characters like GL and Sinestro. :P

I guess I may get this... the pieces are kind of nice, and the design isn't too bad. I'm not a Green Lantern fan, and he doesn't even seem to include his ring (in this image, at least), but he's still an alright minifig. :P It all depends on Space Batman, which I hope we'll get better pictures of at SDCC.

Sinestro's hairpiece is disappointing, but otherwise I'm satisfied. Well, the ship is admittedly pretty ugly, but it's the first actual DC set since 6862, so that's nice.

I wished they'd use the werewolf hair from CMF, and given us a decent jet (instead of the one from 6868, or some scenery for a change) but we do need to keep in mind these were designed later because of BvS delay.

Hm, I guess that could explain why Sinestro and the jet are sort of rough, but I think that this was actually going to be released this Summer, but then they moved it and some other DC sets back to 2015 because of the delay. That is what happened with The Hobbit stuff when the movie was split.

That would make sense, I guess I never thought of that

The set is fairly mediocre, but the figures make it an instant buy. I've also created an article for the set, in case you want to link to it.
