SpongeBob SquarePants was a 2006 licensed line. It was based on the SpongeBob SquarePants television series featured on Nickelodeon. The line still continued five years later. This theme included a variety of exclusive minifigure pieces, as the characters in the theme were not humanoid. Each set was based upon the adventures of SpongeBob SquarePants. Recently, LEGO's competitor, MEGA Brands Inc., announced their collection of the SpongeBob Squarepants license,[1] thereby confirming the end of the license with The LEGO Group.
