5013 Free Throw is a 2003 Basketball Promotional set. This set includes one minifigure and twenty pieces.
Description[edit | edit source]
The set consists of a two models, that of a basketball hoop and a platform for a minifigure to stand on. The basketball hoop has an orange base, representing the hardwood floors used in basketball stadiums. Several black pieces are used to connect to this base and form the shaft of the hoop. Higher up, this connects to a transparent backboard with a grey outlining. This, in turn, connects to a orange rim, which connects to a white basket. This forms the hoop, and can be used for a semi-realistic basketball game.
Also included is a base model, used as a stand for a minifigure. This is essential to placing the game, as Basketball minifigures must stand on a firm base in order to throw balls. The base is built on a orange bottom, again to resemble hardwood flooring. On top of this is several black jumper plates, used to hold a basketball from rolling away. Behind that is a raised section, where a minifigure can be placed, and is able to bend down a pick up a ball that has been placed between the studs of the jumpers. A minifigure is included with the set, that of an unnamed basketball player. He contains black, basketball-style spring-loaded pants, a grey sleeveless T-shirt, and no headgear. His shirt contains printing with three unidentified symbols, as well as two black lines suggesting the edges of his sleeves. His face contains printing suggesting a happy/determined face, with a wide, large, crooked mouth, a pair of eyes with one eye open and the other obscured by his quantity of black hair. This hair is printed on his head, down his sideburns, and encroaching a bit on his chin. It is mainly jagged-style, suggesting that, due to working out and sweating, it has clumped into such a pattern.
