Jørgen Vig Knudstorp is the current chief executive officer of the LEGO Group, and has been since October 2004. He took over from the previous owner Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen, who still owns the company, but does not run it. This is because LEGO is a family-run business, and Kjeld's grandfather first started up the company, so the ownership was passed onto his son. Jørgen Vig Knudstorp joined the LEGO Group in 2001. Jørgen has two masters degrees: one in economics and one in business administration.
