Template:Set header/doc

From Brickipedia, the LEGO Wiki

This template is used in a large number of articles.

Please do not attempt to alter it unless you are certain that you understand the setup and are prepared to repair/revert any consequent collateral damage if the results are unexpected. Any experiments should be conducted in the template sandbox or your user space.

Usage[edit source]

This template should be placed at the very top of an article, even above an infobox like {{Set}}. Fill in only the fields that apply to the respective set, if it's not part of a subtheme or if there are no sets with the same number leave those fields blank.

{{Set header
|toyline=
|supertheme=
|subtheme=
|setwithsamenumber=
|setwithsamenumber2=
|before=
|before2=
|before3=
|after=
|after2=
|after3=
}}

Details[edit source]

Toyline

Toyline usually involves terms like System, DUPLO or Technic. Check the established databases like Lugnet, Brickset or Peeron if you are not sure.

Supertheme and subtheme

Those informations are usually already present in the infobox. Some sets only need the supertheme field filled out, while others also belong to a subtheme. e.g. 6385 Fire House-I is a part of Town (Supertheme=Town), while 6571 Flame Fighters belongs to Town's subtheme Rescue (Supertheme=Town, Subtheme=Rescue). Check the established databases like Lugnet, Brickset or Peeron if you are not sure.

It's possible to insert piped links at these points. Note that you have to have to use ! as delimiter instead of a pipe character, i.e. enter Harry Potter (Theme)!Harry Potter at supertheme and the template displays Harry Potter.

Setwithsamenumber

If there is another set that has the same number as the set whose article you're editing enter the pagetitle of the other set at setwithsamenumber, if there's yet another one put its name at setwithsamenumber2. Use Special:PrefixIndex to find those pages or check the established databases like Lugnet, Brickset or Peeron.

Before and After

Enter the pagetitle of the set with the preceding/next number at before/after. If there is more than one set use before2/after2 etc. Use Special:PrefixIndex to find those pages or check the established databases like Lugnet, Brickset or Peeron.

Special cases[edit source]

For the sets with the numbers 0 to 6, which have to link to more than three sets per number, use {{Set header/special}}.

For the rare cases when you encounter setnumbers that are assigned to four sets, add one or all of the following lines to the template code:

|before4=
|setwithsamenumber3=
|after4=

Like this:

{{Set header
|toyline=
|supertheme=
|subtheme=
|setwithsamenumber=
|setwithsamenumber2=
|setwithsamenumber3=
|before=
|before2=
|before3=
|before4=
|after=
|after2=
|after3=
|after4=
}}

and enter the additional pagetitle. You don't have to add all of the three lines if you don't need them.

Examples[edit source]

The template on the page 6082 Fire Breathing Fortress would be filled out like this:

{{Set header
|toyline= System
|supertheme= Castle
|subtheme= Dragon Master
|setwithsamenumber= ''empty, since there's no second set with the same number (6082)''
|setwithsamenumber2=
|before=6081 King's Mountain Fortress
|before2=
|before3=
|after=6083 Knight's Tournament
|after2=6083 Samurai Stronghold
|after3=
}}

which results in:

LEGO > System > Castle > Dragon Masters
6081 << 6082 >> 6083 (1, 2) 284px-LEGO logo.svg.png

The template on the page 6083 Samurai Stronghold would be filled out like this:

|before=6082 Fire Breathing Fortress
|before2=
|before3=
|after=6085 Black Monarch's Castle ''this is the next set, since there's no set with the number 6084''
|after2=
|after3=
}}

which results in:

|before=10000 Guarded Inn

{{Set header

|setwithsamenumber2=
|before=4960 Giant Zoo
|before2=
|before3=
