Space Gem[edit | edit source]

The Space Gem imbues its user with the ability to manipulate space, change distance between objects, teleport anywhere, and move anything anywhere, and to exist everywhere or in multiple locations at once. The Space Gem is often depicted as being contained within the Tesseract, also known as the Cosmic Cube. The Space Gem appears in the sets 6867 Loki's Cosmic Cube Escape, 30163 Thor and the Cosmic Cube, 76017 Avengers: Captain America vs. Hydra, 76065 Mighty Micros: Captain America vs. Red Skull, and 10721 Iron Man vs. Loki.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes[edit | edit source]

Prior to the events of the game, the Tesseract was stored deep within Asgard's treasure room. As part of his plan to exact his revenge on Earth and Asgard, Loki used a HYDRA base's power source to teleport away to Asgard to reclaim the Tesseract as a power source for Doctor Doom. Once in Asgard, Loki allied with the Frost Giants and overran Asgard, as well as reclaimed the Tesseract. When confronted by Thor, Captain America, Wolverine, and the Human Torch, Loki battled them with the Destroyer. However, he was defeated and teleported away, leaving the Tesseract behind. While the other heroes were attempting to figure out where to store the Tesseract, Wolverine stole it and returned to the X-Mansion with the intent to use it to track down Magneto. However, Loki was able to track the Tesseract down, and alerted Doctor Doom, who sent Magneto and his Brotherhood of Mutants to reclaim it. After fighting several of Magneto's acolytes, Jean Grey, Cyclops, Storm, and Iceman went to the X-Mansion's Cerebro chamber, where Magneto and Mystique were waiting for them with the Tesseract. The pair attacked the X-Men and escaped with the Tesseract, and later returned it to Doctor Doom. After Magneto began to raise Asteroid M, his base, from an island in the Savage Lands, Loki used the Tesseract to teleport himself and Doctor Doom to the base. Afterward, Doctor Doom and Loki began to construct "Doctor Doom's Doom Ray of Doom". However, once Doctor Doom revealed his plan to protect the Earth, Loki betrayed Doom and used the Mind Gem in his sceptre to control him. After Doom was defeated by Iron Man, Spider-Man, Thor, Storm, Thing, and Captain America, Loki used the Tesseract to convert the Doom Ray into a giant mind control device, which he used to control Galactus' mind to force him to consume the Earth and Asgard as part of his final revenge. However, the heroes and the villains teamed up to defeat Galactus and Loki; the two were sent through a wormhole to space, which allowed Thor to destroy the mind-control device with Mjolnir and retrieve the Tesseract. Afterward, Iron Man attempted to take the Tesseract, but Nick Fury confiscated it from him.

The Time Gem imbues its user with the ability to control time. It is central to the plot of the film Doctor Strange, in which Doctor Strange uses the Eye of Agamotto (the Time Gem's container) against Dormammu to trap them in a time loop until Dormammu complied with Strange. The Time Gem appears in 76060 Doctor Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum as the Eye of Agamotto pendant printed on Doctor Strange's chest, and in 76072 Mighty Micros: Iron Man vs. Thanos as the orange gem on Thanos' Infinity Gauntlet racer.
