LEGO Friends: The Video Game is a video game released on November 12, 2013 in the USA for the Nintendo 3DS.
Gameplay[edit | edit source]
Unlike most LEGO games the game does not involve combat. The game requires you to do tasks to help/with your new friends, Andrea, Emma, Mia, Olivia (your cousin) and Stephanie. The more tasks you fulfil your friendship levels with the girls will grow closer to “True Friend” status.
Like the other LEGO games you collect studs around the game which are required for shopping. You can buy accessories for your hair, furniture for your bedroom and outfits with this money.
Throughout the game you will unlock animal friends to help you with the tasks. The different species of pets have different skills, such as the bird, Petie can fly. You can dress the pet with an accessory or you can change the pet's colour.
Background[edit | edit source]
Olivia and her parents greet the player (who is Olivia's cousin) at her house. Olivia gets the player to go around and collect parts for a dog house. After the player build it, Olivia gives the player a new pet puppy and asks it her to dress it. After the puppy is dressed Olivia takes her cousin to her room where they choose a new pair of clothes. Olivia shows her cousin a video on her laptop of her best friends, who are excited to meet her. Olivia then drives her cousin to Heartlake High in her car. After entering the building and greeting Principal Harris, Olivia asks her cousin if she will she help her finish her science project. The game then splits into three stories Mia's, Olivia's, and Stephanie's.
Olivia's[edit | edit source]
Her cousin heads for the science classroom. After learning about biology, chemistry, and physics, Olivia asks her cousin to help her with the science fair. The player fixes Matthew's and tests Maya's. The last science project the cousin must help is Olivia's, she collects the final parts for her project, which are lost in different places around the school. After finding all of the pieces, Olivia finishes her project, which turns out to be Zobo. She then uses Zobo to fix a pipe leak in the school and then lends Zobo to the player. After that, Olivia drives the player to Main Street and gives her several chores to fulfil. The player then meets Andrea and Emma which branch out into two different stories. The player fulfils the chores, by collecting cupcakes from Danielle, books from Mr. Tome and plants from Ms. Petal. The player returns to Olivia who checks the book. In the book Olivia finds a treasure map. She sends the player on a treasure hunt to find Dark Eyed Kate. Along the way the player finds several diamonds with help from turtles. Finally the player finds a treasure chest which has a necklace. Olivia and Kate surprised the Player and are shocked when they see the necklace as they did not plan that. Olivia suggests the Player could ask Mrs. Wyes about the necklace. Mrs. Wyes reveals the necklace is ancient. After discovering this, Olivia is extremely overjoyed. The player returns to Olivia's house and helps Peter water the plants, Jacob with his science project and Anna with her birdhouse. Petie lands in the birdhouse and befriends the Player. The Player sees the girls hiding in the treehouse who are planning a surprise for the Player. The Player uses her puppy to sniff out a treasure chest. Petie receives a key for the chest and the Player opens it. Inside there's a gear which Zobo uses to fix the tree house's ladder. The Player climbs up the ladder and the friends congratulate her and welcome her to "The Friends Club".
Mia's[edit | edit source]
After meeting Mia at her locker, Mia asks the Player to bring out the lost cat with treats. After bringing the cat out it befriends the Player. Mia then invites the Player to join her for soccer practice. After practice the new friends head for the Pet Palour at Main Street. After helping out Joanna with the customers, the Player goes outside to Pet Training class. After winning a ribbon the friends go to Heartlake Vet at Clover Meadows. Sophie allows the girls to help out at the vet and they check the Player's puppy. The Player then goes to City Park Marina for the Pet Show. Before entering the show the Player helps find Flo's cat, Misty. Luckily Skipper Dan has found it and the player lures Misty back with her favourite toy. The overjoyed Flo thanks the Player and wishes her luck. The Player then wins the Pet Show and is congratulated by Andrea, Mia and Stephanie. Mia then takes the Player to Summer Riding Camp and introduces her to Champion. After grooming him and feeding him hay the Player meets Katharina who's lost her cap. The Player then finds Katharina's cap who thankfully gives her a saddle. The Player then dresses Champion and they start the Horse Show. The two win the competition and are congratulated by all th girls. Mia and the Player then ride off together.
Stephanie's[edit | edit source]
The Player meets Stephanie on the soccer pitch. After playing some soccer the two go inside Heartlake High. Stephanie gets the Player to hang up posters for Andrea's contest, buy something from the Student Council Bake Sale, and hang up decorations from the janitor's closet. The two friends then head for Clover Meadows. The friends ask Miss Poppy(who speaks after receiving fresh lemonade for Andrea's juicer at the fair), Ranger Parks(who speaks after the Player puts out campfires), and Sophie about the hurt fawn. Sophie prepares them the Pet Patrol buggy and the two drive around Whispering Woods. The two are disappointed when they can't cross the bridge as its not working. Camper Jack lends the Player his bird (after you bring him his lost picnic basket), Petie. Petie flies up and receives a gear for the bridge. Zobo fixes the bridge and the two cross. They see the fawn but they can't approach it as its too frightened. They stop a loud squirrel and approach the fawn. The friends bring the Fawn back to Sophie and report the story to Ms. Daily. Ms. Daily loves to story but asks for pictures, which the Player takes. The Player then meets Stephanie at the bakery but she has to leave as she's needed elsewhere. After filling in the Player meets Stephanie outside the peer. The Player helps Marine bring the dolphins inland and Stephanie reports it. The four other friends appear and Captain Branson invites all the friends on board the Dolphin Cruiser.
Emma's[edit | edit source]
The Player meets Emma in her fashion design studio. Emma discusses the upcoming fashion show with Ms. Couture. The Player helps prepare Mascot outfits with Emma when Mr. Bangman walks in. Mr. Bangman asks for help to decorate his shop and Emma nominates the Player. The Player dresses Mr. Bangman's shop and soon after the shop is complete. Emma then takes the Player to Clover Meadows for Summer Riding Camp. Emma gives the Player riding hats and gets her to buy a new outfit. The two friends then go to Summer Riding Camp. Theresa teaches you how to groom and feed your horse. Ella, Emma and Stephanie have a surprise party planned for Theresa. Oscar lures the hedgehog loving Theresa to the campfire and the friends surprise the instructor. Emma leaves for Heartlake High and the Player follows her. Kate can't show up at Mascot tryouts so the Player fills in. Andrea and Emma congratulate the Player and then Emma takes her to the Karate dojo. After practising karate Emma goes to City Park Mariana. She is upset as she doesn't have any models or outfits for the fashion show. Luckily, her friends surprise her and the Player chooses their outfits. The friends walk down the runway and afterwards they go to the beach.
Andrea's[edit | edit source]
Andrea meets the Player outside the rehearsal studio. She asks the Player to hang up posters for her concert. When Daisy goes missing the Player goes looking and finds it in a giant magician's hat. The Player holds on to Daisy for the rest of the game. The Player then meets up with Andrea in the rehearsal studio. The Player takes pictures of Andrea and tidies the studio. She later practices dance moves for the concert with Andrea. The friends then head for City Park Mariana. The Player fills in Andrea's shift at the City Park Café. Marie asks the Player to deliver cakes and wait tables. After accomplishing these tasks, Andrea thanks the Player. The Player then goes to Andrea's stage. The lights aren't working so the Player uses the kitten and Zobo to help Olivia fix the lights. When Lindsay's pet poodle, Precious goes missing the Player runs out and finds the dog. Andrea asks the Player to perform with her on stage as she performs better with her friends by her side. The player dances, does the dj stand and lights throughout the performance. After the performance the six girls go to the fair. The Player wins Andrea the teddy bunny prize with tickets she wins from: having her fortune told, fishing, and testing her strength. Andrea loves the teddy and thanks her friend. The friends watch the firework display together.

Enjoy Total Freedom: Explore Heartlake City and decide how you want to spend your time. Hang out with your friends at the cafe, play soccer, attend dance rehearsal, or master skills at the karate dojo.
Build Your Friendships: Help your Friends on special adventures like winning a trophy in a horse riding competition or delivering cupcakes, and your friendship levels with the girls will grow closer to “True Friend” status. On some adventures you’ll even unlock in-game money that you can use for shopping!
Care for Your Pet: Train your pet to do tricks, groom her, feed her treats, and enter her in a pet show. Each pet has a special skill that they can use to help you on your adventures. You can even trade places with your fun-loving pet so you can play the game from her perspective.
Scrapbook Your Adventures: Use your in-game camera for photo-ops and create a beautiful scrapbook of fun memories, so you’ll never forget your summer adventures in Heartlake City.
