Answers to come back[edit source]

I believe it was in plan to put answers back on the old brickimedia. But then the site got put down. :( Anyway, I don't see why we can't bring answers back, it be as active as any of our other sub sites besides customs. Soupperson1 Friends are Forever! <3Friends girls.jpg

Would move my focus to Answers, if it were to come back. --LK901 14:45, 22 October 2014 (UTC)
We can't because 1) the extension hasn't been finished and 2) our server hardly has optimal performance to run the sites it has right now. The reason Brickimedia Answers was taken down in the first place was because the server didn't have enough memory to run, therefore the server was crashing a lot and we had continuous off-and-on downtimes. However if you'd like to donate to Brickimedia to help us pay for a better server, the chance of us launching more projects and being able to run our current projects more optimally would be much greater. --ToaMeiko (talk) 17:33, 22 October 2014 (UTC)
  • I'd love to see an Answers site. Even without the extension that's never going to happen, I still feel it could work with just a comments box. However, to be completely honest, I don't feel it'd get used. I don't exactly see any new users signing up, so it's not like there will be a whole lot of question pages being made... • The extension will happen eventually, even if it's not by us. Since it's open source and an extension of enough interest/usefulness, someone will surely pick up development if the ShoutWiki and Brickimedia developers don't. That's where the problem with using comments comes in, because once that extension, or any extension that serves the purpose, comes into play, there's no way to transfer comments to wiki pages other than manually copying and pasting, which would not be ideal. I think if we really wanted to go about it without the extension, it'd be best to do so just on regular wiki pages, and then use JavaScript to replicate the functionality and interface that the extension is intended to provide. --ToaMeiko (talk) 00:03, 23 October 2014 (UTC)
  • Could we somehow incorporate this idea with Berrybrick's about forums? Ajraddatz (talk) 23:47, 22 October 2014 (UTC)
