LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham is a Batman video game that was released in 2014. The game is the third in the series following LEGO Batman: The Video Game and LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes. Like most modern LEGO games, an exclusive minifigure was available with pre-orders of the game from select outlets,[1] however some stores instead be offered various polybags, key-chains, or other paraphernalia with pre-orders.[3]

When information hoarder Brainiac usurps the Green Lantern Corps' energy to shrink Earth cities for his collection, The Justice League must team-up with their enemies in the Legion of Doom to travel across the universe collecting emotional spectrum rings from the other Lantern Corps to defeat Brainiac and save the Earth.[4]

LEGO Batman 3 will replace the open world of LEGO Batman 2 for a planet-hopping adventure featuring the Justice League of America and some of their villains teaming up to fight Brainiac. Batman and Robin will still be able to use their super suits, but in a way more akin to the disguise wheels from LEGO City Undercover in that they can be selected from a wheel at any time. This time other characters, such as Cyborg, The Joker, and Lex Luthor, will also be able to take advantage of costume changes.[5] Other changes to the suits' mechanic include the ability to upgrade certain suits over the course of the game as well as the need for players to power certain suits, such as powering Batman's space suit with fuel canisters picked up in levels.[6] Various characters, such as Killer Croc and Solomon Grundy, will also be represented in big figs, similar to characters in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes.[7] Virtual mini-games will be accesible via the Bat-computer including fights, mazes, and races.[8] Minifigure and vehicle customization will be features in the game.[9]

LEGO Batman 3 has been nominated for IGN's 2014 "Best of E3" award. Results are still pending.[10]
