• After a licencing disagreement with the Samsonite Corporation, LEGO USA was established in Brookfield, Connecticut. Samsonite ended production of LEGO products in the USA, but continued production in Canada.
• The first boat hull, wing, propeller and helicopter rotor parts were introduced.
