Today I'm reviewing a summer 2014 set: 41033 Jungle Falls Rescue. This set is a 20€/$ Friends set. I am planning to review all the jungle sets week by week. Will this set be a good start? On to this weeks review(by the way the new reviews come out every Wednesday or Thursday):

The Build[edit | edit source]
Mini-doll figure[edit | edit source]
Olivia is the mini-doll of this set. Her hair and head are nothing new, Joanna's braid in reddish brown would've been nice for this jungle sub theme. Olivia's torso is nice, lavender shirt and magenta ascot. Also her torso is the only one not to be exclusive to a jungle set, Mia steals it from her in the jungle tree santuary :/ Emma must have been sick when choosing the legs though, they look horrible! First of who goes to the jungle in a skirt. I've climbed a small steep mountain in a skirt, with struggle. I'd never go cliff exploring in one! Also the skirt isn't nice, I'd never were a green skirt, maybe a dress, but never a skirt. Olivia should stop watching 19 kids and counting and discover girls don't need skirts, unless LEGO is hinting at a Duggars theme. Olivia's accessories include a pink floatie and a amber walkie talkie.
The tiger is a lazy choice. First off he was only introduced this year in an animal pack, which a lot of non Friends fans buy. You won't introduce anyone to Friends by choosing this lazily, LEGO. Why not a snow leopard print, or cheetah? The chameleon is nice, his mould isn't new but his coloring is. He is turning lavender for some reason and his eyes are blue. He only appears in two jungle sets, and likely will remain exclusive until we get a zoo. This is the cheapest way to get a LEGO chameleon, also. If the theme is about Friends and the set has two sets should there not be another mini-doll here? Where on earth is Jacob and why isn't he allowed an appearance??
The waterfall/Café?[edit | edit source]
The side builds is cool, it has upside down tan plates. They are used to build up a tiny raft for the tiger, as he floats down the river. The build itself is meh. It includes a semi okay waterfall looking build, a steep cliff and a cafe? :S The waterfall can be opened up with a clever play feature, by moving the top. Inside only has one crystal in it though, nothing else :/ The pieces are pretty grey and basic for a friends sets, there is those upside down flat tans (<33), a new lime vine piece (you also get a spare for some reason :P), 2 lime sword leaves and a azure 16x16 baseplate. But nothing else really of interest :/ With the crystal Olivia found she funded a café on the top of a steep cliff. Where she sells kiwi salad and cups of tea to an imagery friend, as there's two seats :/
Conclusion[edit | edit source]
Build/Design | 2½ / 5 |
Playability | 3½ / 5 |
Parts | 2½ / 5 |
Price | 3½ / 5 |
Overall | 3 / 5 |
Overall, this is a good not great set, but it's defiantly not bad. The design of it is odd, that darn steep cliff! The pieces aren't great either for a Friends set! The playability could have been better by adding another character, but that be impossible for a friends set. The price is good for the amount of pieces we get though. I don't think you need this set, unless you want all the jungle sets. Anyways, thanks for reading my review! I hope you liked it <3 Soup
