The box[edit | edit source]
The box is mainly medium lavender with medium lilac edges, like the other Friends sets. The front of the box shows Emma and Matthew going through security with the jet at the back. You can see a night time Heartlake City in the background. The back of the box shows Olivia and Matthew pretending to be employees for Heartlake Airlines. I'm saying this as I really hope they don't allow teenagers work in airports, but oh well perhaps I could be the co-pilot as Olivia seems to be spending a lot of time in the bathroom.
The contents[edit | edit source]
We get two numbered bags, two large plane pieces, a sticker sheet and a small instruction manual.
Bag 1[edit | edit source]
The parts
All the azure pieces on the left, besides the slopes are exclusive! The flame yellowish orange 1x1s are exclusive too! Olivia's torso and purse only appear here and one other set.
Olivia seems to be the pilot here, but then why is she dresses like a flight attendant. Her outfit is nice and it matches well. I like Olivia's new purse.
Security stuff
I'm surprised Heartlake City needs security at their airport but City doesn't. Anyway LEGO calls them "security scanner" and "airport security scanner element with a conveyor belt". These builds are simple but effective. That's a laptop in the conveyer belt, you can see the sticker on it in the first picture.
The jet (part 1)
We build half the jet here, and so far so good. The pilot's seat has a nice control panel and joystick. I love the construction of the seats in the lounge area, it's very effective. The bathroom is a disappoint, that's the finished product. I guess it's better then empty space though.
Bag 2[edit | edit source]
The parts
The friends accessory holders and flame yellowish orange flower clips are new for this wave. Matthew's legs and torso only appear here and one other set. The windscreen also makes its first appearance in a Friends set.
Matthew
Matthew looks great! I love the use of his jungle outfit has a casual top. His new leg piece is fantastic! Black trousers and sand blue shoes, it can almost go with anything!
The completed jet
The finished jet looks nice, I'd imagine boys wouldn't mind it as blue and white are the bulk of the colours. It's a nice and simple small cost effective jet build. The flowers on the top are the only part I do not like, and they can be removed easily. Like most friends things the roof (top pieces here) is removable. Inside there's not much else then from before. Two drinks were added onto the table. There's a nice T.V. sticker that shows the dolphin cruiser, and a flower accessory stand beside that. Otherwise there isn't much else, so onto the conclusion.
Conclusion[edit | edit source]
Build/Design | 4 / 5 |
Playability | 4 / 5 |
Parts | 5 / 5 |
Price | 4 / 5 |
Overall | 4 / 5 |
This set is a solid build. While it's not as flashy as 41009 Heartlake Airport I find it more enjoyable. It was easier to build, and the jet itself only fits one less figure. That being said this is aimed more for children who don't like playing as themselves, unless they have a private jet themselves which I doubt :P It would've been nice to have a pilot, Olivia and one of her older family members over Matthew to make it more realistic but oh well. I would recommend getting this set.
