Background[edit | edit source]
Doomsday is a Demon and nearly unstoppable force of destruction who cannot be killed the same way twice. He was once the son of an alien named Bertron who was living in a pod on an extremely dangerous planet along with some other people. Bertron and his crew sent doomsday out of the pod and he was killed in less than a second by some of the creatures on the planet, then two people went out and retrieved a strand of his DNA they then cloned him and sent him back out. They did this hundreds of times, but each time they sent him out, he survived a little bit more, until he finally dominated the planet and attacked the pod, killing everyone inside. Days later a supply ship arrived and Doomsday jumped on before it left, and that was how he was released upon the universe. He once defeated the entire Justice League and killed Superman, dying himself in the process, though both returned to life later. Doomsday then battled Superman on Apokolips and again battled Superman when the Man of Steel had help from Waverider and Mother Box. Brainiac switched minds with Doomsday the next time they met, forcing Superman to fight a now intelligent unstoppable force of destruction. The next time they met, Lex Luthor, as president, recruited Manchester Black, Steel, and a few others to release Doomsday from his prison in space to help fight the Imperiex War. superman and Doomsday encountered Imperiex himself while fighting through his forces in space. Imperiex blasted Doomsday, seemingly frying him. Doomsday actually landed on Apokolips where Darkseid took custody of him. Darkseid then made a deal with Luthor, and Luthor purposely imprisoned Doomsday on Earth and then hired The Joker to break him out. Superman beat Doomsday with the help of Martian Manhunter and Black Lightning. Superman and Doomsday have met and fought since.
