Background[edit | edit source]

Spoiler warning: Plot or ending details follow.

Sparratus evolved from being an ordinary spider with the Chi Laval threw into the Gorge of Eternal Depth. Unlike the other spiders that evolved, Sparratus lost his extra limbs in the transformation making appear more human than spider. Sparratus joined with the other Crawlers and together they captured the crocodile King Crominus and Queen Crunket and marched them to the surface to reveal the source of the Chi.

With Spinlyn

When the spiders and bats returned to Mount Cavora seeking the rest of the stolen Chi, Sparratus remained behind at the Spider Canyon with Queen Spinlyn to oversee the captured Gorilla and Rhinoceros Legend. However the Chima heroes soon arrived in their vehicle disguised as a giant fly. Sparratus initially expressed confusing as to why it wasn't flying, but agreed with Spinlyn when she explained that it was in awe of her beauty. While the queen prepared herself for battle in her beauty hole, the heroes attack and succeeded in retrieving the two captive legend beasts. ("A Tangled Web")

Sparratus on a speedor

The evening after, Sparratus and the other spiders were summoned to the Scorpion Cave to help with the construction of Speedorz. Working through the night, the Crawlers had working speedorz by late morning. Mounting them, they arrived at the Seesaw Canyon just as the heroes were leaving with the rescued Bear and Eagle Legend which the Crawlers had left as bait. A wild chase after Laval commenced wherein Sparratus and Sparacon caught up to him at the Outland edge, but soon became tangled in their own webs and crashed. ("The Eagle and the Bear")

With the other Crawler guards.

That night, Sparratus was part of the convoy transporting the Wolf Legend and Crominus to the Scorpion Cave. Once there, Sparratus help guard the entrance, but was defeated when the Chima heroes launched their attack. ("Tooth or Consequences")

Sparratus managed to recover and make it inside the cave before the collapse of the entrance. He fought fiercely against the Chima heroes until he was called by his queen to save her from a quicksand pit, only to become stuck himself. ("This May Sting a Bit")

Caught in Spinlyn's webs.

Eventually, Sparratus managed to escape the mud pit and lived inside the now blocked off cave for a short time until the Hunters awoke and marched through. The spiders attempted to attack this invading force but were quickly frozen and added to Sir Fangar's collection in the Ice Fortress. ("Fire Dreaming","Cool and Collected")

Days later, Sparratus and the rest of the Crawlers were unfrozen by the phoenix child Flinx. He, along with the other Crawlers tried to attack the Chima tribes until Flinx created a slide for them and the Crawlers fell into the canyon the glacier was currently over, but were caught in Spinlyn's webs. ("A Very Slippery Slope")

Spoilers end here.
